Trust Signals in Software

The blog about "The Save Button That Doesn't" missed its own scheduled publish date. You can't make this stuff up.

Illustration of a red Save button, a green "Saved Successfully" message, and a "Missed Schedule" stamp, showing how software can appear successful while quietly failing.
Sometimes the software writes the sequel for you.

Impeccable Timing

By Jana Diamond, PMP

A few weeks ago I wrote a blog called "The Save Button That Doesn't."

You probably read it here.

Funny thing, though.

We scheduled the post.
Everything looked perfectly normal.
Then we walked away and forgot about it.

Just like normal.

A couple of weeks later, I went looking for it.

It wasn't there.

This is what WordPress had to say:

Screenshot shows that the scheduled action - FAILED. The system chose to not perform it.
Scheduled action not taken. No explanation given.

Apparently, even The Save Button That Doesn't couldn't trust the save button.

Sometimes the universe has impeccable comedic timing.

'Nuff said.
